VDA AIAG fmea update

19.12.2017: For many companies the decision about whether to adopt AIAG or VDA methodology has been a contentious and confusing one. The deciding factor usually came down to whether the company was either North American or European owned (or a supplier to). Although the fundamental philosophy has always been the same, the documentation and risk descriptions have been different. Discussions have been undertaken since 2016 to align AIAG and VDA. AIAG released a draft of this, which expresses that the structured approach of VDA is to be incorporated as the new methodology for FMEA. This confirms that our current services are unlikely to be affected by the forthcoming alignment. We expected a finalised handbook to be published in 2018. Read on...
